FAQ/Troubleshooting

Q: Will the CONNECTED-wear™ iPod modules (IP30, IPRF, IPBT) work with iPhones?

A: Yes. (Also see below for iPhone error message instructions).

Q: When I plug the CONNECTED-wear™ module into my iPhone a message box appears on the iPhone screen stating "the accessory is not optimized for iPhone".

A: You can just ignore this message or click ‘Dismiss’ and all the CONNECTED-wear™ function remote controls will work as they do on an iPod.

Q: When I plug the IP30 module into my iPhone or iPod Touch a message box appears on the screen stating "this accessory is not supported by iPhone/iPod".

A: If you have an older IP30 module (manufactured <2008) then the new iPod Touch and iPhone will not be compatible due to iPhone software changes. You can purchase either the IPLX or new IP30 module from the CONNECTEDwear WEBSHOP and these will fully control your iPod Touch or iPhone as normal.

Q: When I plug in the CONNECTEDwear module I cant hear any sound from the iPod or iPhone.

A: A bug has been reported with some new generation iPods and iPhone where the volume control is affected by the plug-in order of the module/headphones. This is fixed easily by following this set-up order:

• plug the CONNECTED-wear™ module into the iPod/iPhone first
• plug the headphones into the iPod/iPhone second
• all volume functions should now work as normal

Q: Does the IPBT work with the iPhone.

A: Yes, the IPBT works as normal for music control. The iPhone can also be paired with the IPBT to make and receive calls via Bluetooth but not whilst in flight mode.

Q: Is there any CONNECTED-wear™ module that can wirelessly retrieve and then control the music on an iPhone using Bluetooth.

A: Yes. iPhone 3G, 3Gs & 4 which have software V3.0 will pair with the BTM module for wireless music control.

Also, the IPRF module will wirelessly control the music functions on the iPhone.
